Use Cases
Sourcing for Specific Tech Stacks
- Search GitHub for developers using specific technologies.
- Visit their profiles and let Talent Scout analyse their actual code contributions.
- Much more reliable than self-declared skills on resumes.
Open-Source Community Sourcing
- Find active contributors to popular open-source projects.
- Assess code quality and collaboration skills through PR history.
- Reach out to developers who demonstrate the exact technical skills you need.
Hackathon & Conference Sourcing
- Find GitHub profiles from hackathon submissions and conference speaker lists.
- Quickly assess technical depth and import to your pipeline.
Best Practices
- Look beyond stars — contribution frequency and code quality matter more than repository popularity.
- Check recent activity — an active GitHub profile in the last 6 months is a stronger signal.
- Review pinned repos — developers pin their best work. Start there for quality assessment.
- Cross-reference — pair GitHub sourcing with LinkedIn to get the full professional picture.
